Here are some of the specific features that are required for Formula One racing roads:
- The surface must be smooth and even, with no cracks or bumps.
- The road must be wide enough to accommodate two cars racing side by side.
- The road must have adequate run-off areas in case of a crash.
- The road must be surrounded by safety barriers to protect spectators.
- The road must have good drainage to prevent water from pooling on the surface.
Formula One racing is a dangerous sport, and the roads that are used for racing must be designed to minimize the risk of accidents. The specific requirements for Formula One racing roads are designed to ensure the safety of the drivers, the spectators, and the people who work on the race track.
There are currently two cities in India that have roads that are capable of hosting a Formula One race:
- Mumbai: The Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, just outside of Mumbai, hosted the Indian Grand Prix from 2011 to 2013. The circuit is 5.14 kilometers (3.20 miles) long and has a maximum width of 14 meters (46 feet).
- Chennai: The Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai is 4.5 kilometers (2.80 miles) long and has a maximum width of 12 meters (39 feet). The track was built in 1976 and has hosted a number of international races, including the Formula 3000 Asia Series and the World Touring Car Championship.
Both of these circuits have been certified by the FIA and are capable of hosting Formula One races. However, it is unlikely that either circuit will host a Formula One race in the near future. The Indian Grand Prix was discontinued in 2014 due to financial problems, and the Madras Motor Race Track is not currently owned by a promoter who is interested in hosting a Formula One race.
It is possible that a new Formula One race could be held in India in the future. However, any new race would likely be held on a new circuit that is built specifically for Formula One racing.
